Pets are helpful creatures that the player can craft (or obtain) to aid them in their quest.

To spawn them into the world, just select them (Like you would with a tool or a weapon) and right click (Or press the "Use" button on the screen) in front of you or on the ground and the pet will magically appear in a flash of magic smoke. While the pet icon is still selected in your hand, right click (or press the "Use" button) again to despawn your pet and bring it back to your hand.

You can have multiple different pets spawned in the world at the same time.

Just make sure to remember to bring them back to your hand if you're leaving the area before they wander off and get hurt by a powerful enemy, dangerous boss, or even the environment!

Note: You can only spawn 5 different pets at a time. If you have five pets already spawned and you want to place another, you must despawn one of your pets from the world and respawn another in its place.

NOTE: Despawning a pet while it's attacking a powerful enemy or a boss will "cancel" the fight and cause you to lose the loot and exp that the enemy/boss normally drops. (However, there is a small chance that you can instantly summon the pet back into the fight and it will continue as normal and you will get the exp and drops. It does not always work.)

Combat[]

Pets are passive to the player. They cannot hurt the player (other than the Mati pet if you get too close), but the player can hurt them by using any magic staff. Most pets attack aggressive mobs automatically and only attack neutral and passive mobs if the player attacks them first. Only the cat and dog don't attack anything.

Pets have three bars above them:

  • Green bar: This represents a pet's health. Read more at the Health Points page. A pet's maximum HP can be increased by leveling them up. To increase their maximum health without leveling them up, give them Dragon Armor.
  • Yellow bar: A pet's attack and HP can be improved by leveling them up, the maximum level being 50. They level up by filling up the yellow experience bar above them by gaining experience from killing other mobs.
  • Blue bar: This bar shows the pet's current hunger. As their hunger bar decreases, they deal less damage with their attacks, so it is advised to keep their hunger bar as full as possible all the time, if you plan on using them for battle. To feed pets, drop their food of choice and allow them to pick it up.

The cat and dog do not have the Blue and Yellow bars, as they do not attack mobs.

All pets can detect if they are too far away from the player and attempt to come run back to the player. If the player continues to move away from the pets, then the pets will teleport next to the player. This detection distance is the same size as the distance that pets can detect mobs from.

Their DPS (damage per second) and abilities vary, and so does their damage (IE the Eldriar and Onyx soul can shoot fireballs at a certain level.)

Since most of the pets have the same models as most of the bosses/enemies (I.E. Dragon Soul is the same as Ice Dragon, Dragon, and Ashkore. Spider Soul is the same as the Aragog boss. Rainbow Basilisk Soul & Basilisk enemy, Mati Soul and Mati Boss, etc...), their attacks are also the same attack speed/amount of times they can attack, however the pets do not need to run/fly back after attacking. (Ex: Aragog attacks three times and then runs backward and charges forth to attack again. The Spider Soul does three attacks at a time as well, but does not run back such a long distance before attacking again.)

Currently, the Gontar has the fastest attack speed out of any of the pets (with the Spider being a close second) and the Rainbow Basilisk has the strongest (close-up) damage out of any of the grounded pets. The Snowman has the strongest and longest ranged attack, however requires Snow to use it (It can still attack close-up however).

Riding[]

The player can ride their pets when the pet reaches level 30 by using a Saddle on them. The only exceptions to this are the Snowman, Mati, the dog and cat. The walking and flying speed of pets being ridden can be increased by increasing the player's walk speed and flying speed.

When riding pets, it can be noticed that the DPS of that pet increases drastically, as the time between attacks is vastly reduced. This is especially beneficial for the dragon pets, due to their usually low DPS - their elemental breath both takes a long time to execute and forces the dragon to run from their target. However, it should be noted that pets with unique attacks, such as Onyx, and Eldriar, are unable to perform these special attacks while ridden.

Utility[]

Every pet has a maximum of 16 inventory slots. Their inventory acts the same as the player's. They collect items by walking to them and contrary to the player's skills, a pet's loot collection distance cannot be increased.

Despite pets having a maximum of 16 inventory slots, they only start with 4 slots at level 1. The way in which these slots are unlocked depends on what platform you are playing on:

  • Android/iOS: 12 of these slots are locked behind a Diamond paywall. 200 Diamonds for the first 4, 400 for the next 4 and 800 for the last 4 slots.
  • Steam: Each pet unlocks their whole inventory for free by the time they reach level 50.

To change a pet's name, press on their health bar and press "Rename". To change a pet's name color, write a color's hex code before the pet's name. The name will be that color. For example, "[0000FF]Arnold" makes "Arnold" blue.

Dropping & Losing Your Pet[]

If the player decides to drop their pet's soul, they will be met with a screen asking "Are you sure you want to drop this item?" with two options: Yes or No. This feature is always on and is unable to be turned off. Press Yes, and the pet's soul is dropped from the inventory. Press No, and the pet's soul remains in the inventory.

If the player loses the pet's soul, they will not lose the pet's level or inventory, as the pet's progress is not tied to the item, but to the player. The player can obtain another pet soul to replace the original and regain the pet with all of its level and inventory.

Quotes[]

  • "Click on my health bar if you want to rename it." (tip given when a pet is summoned for the first time)
  • "I will collect it for you." (collecting dropped /leftover items)
  • "Attack!" (attacking)

  • "I'm very hungry and weak :(" (very hungry [this may be inaccurate])
  • "I'm feeling stronger!" (leveling up)
